Naturally Sangkhlaburi Chicken

  • Free-range: young chickens are kept inside a shelter at low density (maximum 10 chickens per m2), for protection from predators and the weather. When their feathers are fully developed they are allowed to roam freely in a large fenced-in yard or garden; eating grass and searching for worms. Running, flapping their wings and scratching for food helps develop the birds’ muscles, producing the firmer, tastier meat Naturally Sangkhlaburi chicken is renowned for. Lower density and improved biosecurity during the raising period also reduces the risk of disease entering the flock and therefore the need for medical treatments. Our chickens are healthy and delicious!
  •  Slow-growth: our Thai x French crossbred chickens are a slow-growth breed slaughtered at a minimum 80 days of age – at least twice the ages of industrially produced birds. The bird has time to mature and develop its strength and shape, a key reason why our chicken is more flavourful and firm.
  • Free of antibiotics and hormones: our chickens are fed with feed made with maize, rice, cassava, soya, fish, vitamins and minerals. For prevention of infections by parasites and some bacteria, the bare minimum anti-parasitic and antibiotic drugs may be given to the chickens early in life, but are strictly not allowed during the weeks prior to slaughtering. Hormones are forbidden throughout. Naturally Sangkhlaburi chickens and eggs are regularly tested for antibiotic residues.
  • Processing: Naturally Sangkhlaburi operates a small-scale slaughtering facility in Sangkhlaburi where all chickens are slaughtered under supervision of Asvelis staff. Slaughtering standards are rigorously maintained through monitoring and supervision. The chickens are then packaged on the spot and immediately chilled to below 4 degrees, without freezing, to ensure freshness and product safety.
  • Delivery: Naturally Sangkhlaburi operates the entire cold-chain from slaughterhouse to customer. There are no breaks. You can be certain the chicken that arrives in Bangkok has been stored at below 1-4 degrees C for from the slaughterhouse to your refrigerator.
